Design Goals & Constraints
When working on a condo kitchen, we face constraints: limited footprint, structural obstacles (walls, columns), plumbing/electrical routing, and the need to maintain a cohesive open flow with living areas. Our design goals were to:
- Maximize storage without overwhelming the space
- Maintain clean modern lines and uncluttered surfaces
- Integrate appliances seamlessly
- Create a layout that accommodates both food prep and entertaining
Spatial Optimization & Layout Strategy
We reconfigured the layout to allow for continuous work zones, clear circulation, and optimal sightlines. A clever arrangement of base and tall cabinetry ensures that storage doesn’t interrupt the visual flow.
Custom Cabinetry & Storage Solutions
Custom cabinetry is the backbone of this design. We used frameless doors with minimalistic hardware, hidden pantry drawers, vertical organizers, appliance garages, and pull-out trays. Every inch is purposeful—nothing is wasted.
Integrating Appliances & Functionality
The appliances are integrated into the design so they feel built-in rather than added. The refrigerator, dishwasher, and hood are all aligned with cabinetry planes. Compact, high-performance models were selected to fit the scale.
Light, Materials & Finishes
To keep the space feeling open and bright, we leaned into lighter finishes, reflective surfaces, and strategic lighting layers. Under-cabinet LED lighting, recessed ceiling lights, and statement pendants were used to create ambiance while ensuring task lighting is strong.
