We’re honored to share that one of our recent Leawood, Kansas kitchen remodels was featured in Homes & Style KC. This elegant transformation blends custom cabinetry, modern functionality, and timeless warmth—a perfect example of what Kitchens by Kleweno brings to every project.

From Traditional to Timeless

The homeowners’ goal was clear: open the floor plan, increase natural light, and create a kitchen that feels both contemporary and inviting. Our design team, Genevieve Hamel and Randall Sisk, collaborated closely with the clients to bring that vision to life.

Design Challenges & Solutions

• Opening the layout: We removed a dividing wall and redesigned the island into a bar-height seating area, turning it into a natural gathering space.
• More light, better symmetry: Two original windows were replaced with three evenly spaced ones, brightening the room and creating balance.
• Blending old and new: Existing oak floors were refinished, removing the dated yellow stain and harmonizing the palette with fresh finishes.
• Seamless appliance integration: A paneled refrigerator, La Cornue induction range, and steam ovens ensure a sleek yet functional design.
• Attention to detail: A custom patina range hood, handmade porcelain backsplash, and quartzite countertops (extended across windowsills) add artistry.
• Lighting & mood: Custom pendants, layered metal finishes, and backlit shelving in the buffet bring elegance and atmosphere.
